about

Clients: making enhanced collective
event: collect 2015
Budget: £12,000
Build length: 1 day

This project included the design and construction of:

  • A bespoke exhibition structure for the 2015 Collect Open exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery

Undertaken as part of architecture collective ‘PUG’, this project utilised CNC cut plywood to create an easy to transport, fast to erect exhibition structure for a major London exhibition.

The structure was designed in 3D software, then cut and finished off-site before being assembled in a matter of minutes at the venue.

All cables routes, fixings and openings were pre-configured within the design for ease of installation, and the work being displayed could simply be be affixed in-situ.

KEY CHALLENGES:

  • Designing a large structure that could be assembled and disassembled quickly.

  • Working to a modest budget and timeframe.

  • Not scratching the Saatchi Gallery floors!

“It looks wonderful! God this is exciting!”
